Midpoint formula

The midpoint formula which is explained on this page, is used in mathematics to determine the middle between two other points.
This page contains an explanation about it and provides some exercises in order to get familiar with the midpoint formula.

The midpoint M of point A(x_{A},y_{A}), B(x_{B},y_{B}) can be calculated with the following formula

Exercises

- Calculate the midpoint M of A(4,5) and B(14,8).
- Do the same for R(-2,5) and S(0,-8)
- Point P(24,28) is the midpoint of M(22,44) and N(x
_{N},y_{N}). Give the coordinates of N. - Determine two points of which point W(4,5) is the midpoint.
